Let’s say your plant has four known odor emitting sources. We set up the OdoScan computer in your offices, and the weather tower and station that are a part of the system. We measure manually (once) the odor emission from the four sources, and enter these odor values (in odor units) into your OdoScan computer. The system is now fully functional and displays the real-time odor plume. That’s it.

24/7, a plant operator can look at the screen and see the near-instant odor dispersion plume generated by the plant. She can see how far it reaches into the neighborhood, in what direction, with how much odor.

She can set up Alert Points on the screen with just a point & click. A school, a hospital, a complainant, some other sensitive potential receptor, even miles away…just click on it, and it becomes an Alert Point. Set an Alert Odor Level, say, 5 odor units, and OdoScan will forever after monitor that Alert Point; the moment 5 odor units are predicted at the Alert Point, the system sends an e-mail to alert you or the designated technician. You can set and unset Alert Points (up to 200 APs monitored simultaneously), you can set or change the Odor Alert Level at will.
