Sampling is conducted with the help of a flux chamber developed specifically by Odotech using the US EPA design, for taking samples of volatile chemical compounds or surface odors. Developed by the US EPA, this technique allows us to sample the gases emitted by a surface source without ever allowing the sample to come into contact with internal mechanisms such as pump rings. The flux chamber consists of a cylinder capped with a hemisphere.
ODOFLUX™ operates using a controlled jet of ultra-pure air from a cylinder or portable compressor. The ODOFLUX™ outlet is connected to a TEDLAR© or NALOPHANE© canister or bag. The air is aspirated at a controlled flow rate under isokinetic conditions relative to the intake. Consequently the interior of the container is ideally conditioned for mixing, without generating aspiration or a backdraft effect of the surface-emitted gas.
